“Don’t you know you can’t be a faerie princess when you grow up?”

Fired For Pink Hair

Mom’s warning wasn’t going to stop me from being a princess for parties, but having pink hair did. For a minute, it looked like she might be right.

And honestly, the job was ‘look like Cinderella’, so I understand why pink hair was out.

The problem was I couldn’t find a new job entertaining the way I loved most: reading a room full of children and helping them all have fun.

I loved coaxing shy ones from behind their parent’s legs with elaborate stories, or shifting into playing ‘big crashing dinosaurs’ to channel a horde of tiny Tasmanian devils (IYKYK).

So, that became Happily Ever Laughter.

The Problem

Most children’s entertainment only answered one question:

‘What will the children do?’

  • A character to meet.
  • A craft to make.
  • A face-painting chair.

Those are great, but they opened up a second question:

‘Who will lead the children?’

A toddler will need activities simplified, older children will want them more challenging, and some might not participate at all because it’s all tooooo overwhelming. They all need a little help.

If no one is leading, parents are pulled in and out of being a guest and a manager.

That is why events with children are so exhausting.

Happily Ever Laughter Parties was born.

The Fix

Happily Ever Laughter does both.

Our entertainers (the HELP Faeries’) lead children and adapt activities to their age, mood, and interests, so everyone actually has a good time.

The Win

After 20 years, thousands of events, and 2,000,000 children entertained, we hear the same thing again and again:

“They had a blast the whole time.”

“Adults connected instead of running after children.”

“Everyone talked about how much fun they had on the drive home.”

What’s Next

Mom finally believes in real faerie jobs, and is now our lead costume designer, sewing mermaid tails and pirate pants for our team of 50.

We’ve spread our wings and now reach almost all of California, playing with children at up to 125 events every week.

We would be honored to be invited to yours.
