Congratulations – we loved meeting you online and want to invite you to the next step of your journey to becoming a Happily Ever Laughter performer!

You are officially invited to audition in person!

Sat Jan 13th 2024
Part One: 11am

Part Two: (if you’re selected to stay): 12:30pm

116 Clearwater Court, Santa Cruz, CA 95062

(see photo below)

FAQ – Why is it a house?

Because our office suffered a fire.  When we looked for a new office we decided to move Happily Ever Laughter into a house instead because it’s easier to get into costumes with full bathrooms available, unlike most commercial space.

We can’t wait to meet you at our ‘Mojo Dojo Office House’!

Heads Up!

This is not virtual – this is in person.

You’ll meet the other applicants during your audition and play some simple drama games with our training team to see if you’re a good fit.

This audition is unique because it is not competitive. If you seem like a good fit, we’ll hire you!

Here is a little more info about the in-person audition for you:

The first part of your audition is about 30 minutes long, and that’s when you’ll participate in the drama games.

If you make it through the first part, you’ll be invited to stay for the 2nd part.

The second part of your audition is a little longer (about 2-3 hours).  You’ll work with some simple props (like easy balloon twisting shapes & how to apply glitter tattoos) and also learn how we will train you to play with children in the Happily Ever Laughter style.  This way you will better understand what it’s like to work here before you commit to the official training.

You’ll be told that day whether you made it through the auditions, and then you’ll be offered a chance to see a real show with a performer near you so you can see exactly what it’s like.

If you like it, you will be hired and begin your paid training!

Important things to know:

Please park in spaces that don’t block other people’s driveways or require you to leave to put money in a meter.

Please give yourself plenty of time to drive, park, and walk in.  We LOVE it when people are 20 minutes early.

If you are late, test us at 831-346-0002 as early as possible.  We would rather know you’re stuck in traffic an hour before you’re late versus not hearing from you until 3 minutes before we are set to begin.

Communication is key. You will not be invited to the audition if you are late and have not called in advance.

What to bring:

To find out what to wear/bring, I will invite you to an online course that outlines everything in our internal learning management system.  We just refer to it as ‘The LMS’. 🙂

It’s a little foreign to work with at first, so I want you to move over to that platform sooner than later to get the hang of it.

I’ll send you your first course to prepare you for audition day within the hour.

If you don’t see a notification about it in your email, just login here in about an hour to see it:

Username: Your first name with the first letter capitalized and your last name with the first letter capitalized without a space between them.

If you run into trouble with your username, try just your first name.

Thank you so much for reading this far and see you soon!
